Steven Gale is an experienced and popular interviewer who chairs 40-50 events annually at literature festivals in the UK and internationally. Most are one-to-one interviews, some are panel discussions. He is comfortable discussing a wide range of subjects, including literary and genre fiction, history, biography, memoir, politics, science, sport, food and film.

Steven also curates festivals and events, moderates panel discussions at┬áconferences and for businesses, book launches and press previews, and facilitates meetings to discuss organisations’ programming, planning, governance and stakeholder management. He recently curated the inaugural ‘Omnibus Edition’ literary festival in Clapham, London, in May 2016.

In 2014-15, Steven’s literary conversations included Hanif Kureishi, Richard Flanagan, James Ellroy, Jenny Offill, Edna O’Brien, Joanna Trollope, Kate Mosse, Hilary Mantel, Emily St John Mandel, Sean Michaels, Teju Cole, Christos Tsiolkas, Alexander McCall Smith, Eleanor Catton, Margaret Drabble and Elizabeth Gilbert.

“The best interviewer I have come across. His ability to get the best from authors writing on a dizzying array of subjects is impressive.”
